Supported by Agroscope and the Hasler Foundation, IN-FINITUDE AG collaborated with USI to test an intelligent image recognition tool. This was then implemented in Pollenn® to enable the automatic identification of the Japanese beetle, an extremely invasive exotic insect. The Japanese beetle is considered a quarantine pest and is subject to the obligation to report and control in both Switzerland and the EU.
